Since 1973, the history of Aquanaria has been closely linked to Gustavo Larrazábal, a tireless entrepreneur committed to aquaculture with one single goal: to raise large sea bass of exceptional gastronomic quality off the Canary Islands.
Aquaculture seabass
Unlike the Mediterranean where there is little wave motion and large temperature ranges, the Atlantic Ocean offers the best breeding conditions, with strong currents and an ideal and constant temperature all year round. The huge depth nets, within which the fish can move freely, promote the attainment of ideal musculature and an optimal level of fat: if the sea bass swims all day, its flesh is much firmer. Aquanaria sea bass are fed of three types of bluefish, without any terrestrial animal residues (only vegetable) and without added keratin.
The values
Sustainability and respect for the environment are the basis for raising Aquanaria sea bass to obtain healthy, nutritious and tasty fish. The team consists of passionate, competent people who firmly believe in the project, sharing the company's philosophy with an eye always on innovation. Since 2020, the company has been engaged in a noble reforestation project in the areas of Gran Canaria most affected by fires in recent years. This is because forests act as climate regulators, promoting the well-being of rivers, seas and oceans to restore the balance of nature.
