Salted Organic Kombu Seaweed
Kombu seaweed has an intense, salty, and slightly smoky flavor. It can be brown or golden in color and has a crunchy, almost cartilaginous texture.
It comes in thick stems, derived from sheets that are divided into strips. Its high fiber content makes it an excellent ingredient for any meal. It is rich in minerals and a great source of magnesium. Kombu seaweed is very useful for cooking sauces, broths, and stewed meat or fish.
Porto-Muiños is a family business run by husband and wife Antonio Muíños and Rosa Mirás. In 1998, they began processing seaweed and selling it in dried or canned form. Today, their products can be found in powdered, salted, and fresh forms, with the latter being particularly successful. Antonio and Rosa have built the success of their company on the study and dissemination of the organoleptic characteristics of seaweed.
